Most kettle owners simply bank charcoal against the side of the bowl. It works, but it doesn't make the most of your fuel or your kettle.
The Offset Plate changes that.
By directing airflow through the charcoal instead of around it, your kettle burns cleaner, holds steadier temperatures and uses less fuel. Whether you're smoking a brisket, roasting a chicken or reverse searing steaks, the Offset Plate helps your kettle perform at its best.
INSTALLATION
The Offset Plate sits directly on your charcoal grate (the lower grate inside your kettle), not the cooking grill.
It can be used on its own or with a genuine Weber® Charcoal Basket. We recommend using the basket to keep the charcoal contained and help prevent unnecessary wear to the kettle bowl.
When used without a basket, the Offset Plate holds approximately twice the charcoal capacity of a genuine Weber® Charcoal Basket, making it perfect for extended cooks.
TYPICAL BURN TIMES
One of the questions we're asked most is, "How long will my charcoal last?"
Burn times vary depending on weather, charcoal type, vent settings and cooking temperature, but here's what we've found using quality briquettes.
